Another Apprentice taken on Board here at Eurotech!
Introducing Matthew Read… Matthew will be completing an NVQ Level 3 in Marketing, as well as supporting both the Marketing and Sales teams, whilst working alongside Jordan Buckenham – an original Eurotech apprentice who has now been here for over ten years!
Tell us about yourself Matthew…
“After passing my first year at college studying business, I decided that instead of carrying on to the next year of the course, I will go out and get myself an apprenticeship in order to gain some experience.
Initially this decision was made whilst partaking in a work placement I landed myself with British Petroleum (BP). The practical experience I gained during this period of time made me realise that I would much rather be out in the real world, developing my personal skills, alongside gaining a first-hand insight of the work environment that I believe will benefit me for life .
Whilst attending college I also worked part time in a bike shop, and it was here I began developing my sales background.”
“Eurotech for me was the perfect apprenticeship; enabling me to combine two specific sets of skills that thoroughly interests me. For example, whilst developing my sales experience from a different perspective, I will also be completing a Level 3 NVQ in marketing. I’m a strong believer that in order to be truly successful at what you do, you have to enjoy it – therefore I see Eurotech as a genuine opportunity for me.”
Why have you chosen Marketing?
“Whilst studying at college, I clearly established a passion for the marketing side of business and discovered that it was something I would like to do. I’m an open minded individual and enjoy being creative; attributes I wholly believe are essential for marketing.”
What do you hope to achieve at Eurotech?
“I want to improve the way Eurotech market as a company. I want to see statistical improvements within the company, and as time goes on I want to see these getting better and better. After just being here a week I’ve already set myself deadlines and tasks to complete, as well as stringing together a marketing plan alongside Bernie Boyce (Managing director).
For me it’s simple – I don’t want to be good at what I do, I want to be the best.”
So that’s Matthew… If you’d like to know anything else, just give him a call – 01932 260 474, he’ll be happy to say hello!
